SLIDING THROUGH THE SEASONS
I'm decking the hall
With some holiday cheer
The Christmas tree stands
All bright and tall.
Let’s raise a beer
As midnight draws near
And welcome in the New Year.
Off toward Valentine's Day we go
Waiting to be hit
By Cupid's arrows and bow.
Close to St Patrick's Day
You might see a little green man
Running around the land
So stop him and ask him
Where the pot of gold lay.
Here comes the Easter bunny
He hippity hops hippity hops
Powered by carrot tops
Delivering baskets of candy
O'er hill and dale
We're rolling into summer
The rain has gone
And left flowers behind
So pack up a picnic basket
To escape the city racket.
On the Fourth wave your stars and stripes
While watching fireworks and the likes.
Boo, boo the orange Halloween pumpkins
Sit on the porch with golden grins
As children in costumes beg for goodies
Or commit other kid sins.
The leaves have all turned
And are falling to the ground
Ready to be burned
It’s warm in the oven but chilly outside
The house is full of good smells
Now the Thanksgiving turkey and pie
Fill my belly 'til it swells.
Men in tight pants
Kick a brown ball on TV
But there's nothing I see
As I snore on the couch
We've come full circle
It's my favorite season
I love the cold and snow so
And not needing any reason
To shop and eat and open presents.
